Abstract : Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides funding channels that contribute in the promotion and establishment of small and medium projects. This thesis addressed the role of the specialized credit institutions established by Saudi government to provide a short and long term funding services to various economics sectors including small and medium projects. The major aim of this thesis was to Estimate the demand function of small and medium project funding , and discover the limitations and obstacles that effect the funding of small and medium projects in Saudi Arabia. The definition of these projects and their economic roles for both industrialized and developing countries were also discussed. The specific objectives of this study were to: Explain the role and the responsibilities of the specialized credit institutions in terms of funding small and medium projects. Clarify the positive and negative impact of independent variables such as, interest rate, index of living costs, money circulation outside banks, the average income and population number on grant application received by funding buddies . To sum up, the independent variables discussed in this study can be used to predict the behavior of the specialized lending institutions towards funding applications. This thesis confirms the urgent need to establish a specialized institution to fund and support small and medium projects. In addition, it underpins the need to create an innovative funding strategy by local banks to maintain and fund these projects.
