Abstract : This research project aims to design commercial patterns for a number of traditional garments in the Makkah Al Mukarramah region of Saudi Arabia. Also, to construct traditional garments with proper fitting by designing readymade patterns. This research contributes to reducing the costs of establishing production units across sectors by reducing the pattern design phase. Additionally, it contributes to generating economic profits for low-income families by supporting local production of traditional clothing and contributes to expanding and reviving the traditional clothing industry, by supporting small businesses that produce post-pattern stages. Finally, it creates an opportunity for local Saudi workers to use their skills and expertise. With regards to research design, the researcher used the descriptive approach followed by the analytical approach and applied study in identifying some traditional clothes in the Makkah region and designing readymade patterns for these costumes. The samples were executed using patterns designed by students who have no experience in pattern design. Then, the executed samples and designed patterns were evaluated by working with academic specialists in order to verify the research objectives and its hypothesis by using the grading scale. The study resulted in the design of readymade patterns for some traditional clothing including Althob Almaliki, Althob Alharbi, and Kortah dress. The results of the study also demonstrated that the best fit of executed traditional clothing samples was achieved through the use of readymade patterns. A positive trend for the target group towards the use of designed patterns was observed. Therefore, the study recommends designing commercial patterns in Arabic in a variety of designs; in order to create a greater opportunity for beginners to produce an array of completed samples and to invent alternative ways to reduce the cost of designing readymade patterns to give the producer a greater product advantage in a competitive market. Keywords: clothing - traditional clothing - readymade patterns
