The research deals with a part of the manuscript of the book (Al-Sharh Al-Saghir) by Imam/ Abdulkarim bin Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Alrafi Alshafi, which is an explanation of the book (Al-Wajeez) by Imam/ Abu Hamed Alghazali, and concerns with studying and investigating (from the beginning of the Book of Purification to the end of the Book of Menstruation).
The research includes an introduction consists of: the importance of the manuscript, the reasons to select it, previous studies, the investigation approach, and the research plan.
The research is divided into two parts:
The first section includes the study, and has two chapters:
The first chapter: Introduces the author of the book (Al-Wajeez) and his book. It introduces Imam Alghazali, his name and lineage, his scientific life, his sheikhs and students, his writings, and his death, then the introduction to the book (Al-Wajeez), and its most prominent scientific works.
The second chapter: Introduces came the author of the book (Al-Sharh Al-Saghir) and his book. It includes his name, lineage, birth, family, scientific and practical life, and his scientific effects and death, then the introduction to the book (Al-Sharh Al-Saghir), its attribution to its author, the approach of the author in the book, its scientific value, sources, and terminology.
The second section includes the investigation consists of: an introduction to describe the written copies, an explanation of its approach, and the investigated text (from the beginning of the Book of Purification to the end of the Book of Menstruation).
Then, the research was complemented with the necessary technical indexes used in the scientific investigations.
I have adopted the academic scientific approach used in text investigations and producing them based on correcting the book, comparing the versions and proving the correctness among them, relying on an original of these copies, then serving the text with what it needs of documentations, introductions, explanations , and so on.
Some parts of the book had previously investigated at some universities. However, it was not a complete, methodical work, and the previous work did not depend on all the approved written copies of the book, Al-Sharh Al-Saghir by Al-Rafi, so it was necessary to re-investigate it, especially since it was written by one of the senior imams of the school.
The importance of producing the book in a sound scientific way increases in several aspects, that it is a summary of (Al-Sharh Al-Kabir), of Imam Al-Rafi, which is one of the main books of the Shafi School, and it is an explanation of the book (Al-Wajeez) by Imam Alghazali whose books have a great place in the Shafi School.
Finally; I recommend paying attention to what remains of the heritage books in Islamic jurisprudence have not been investigated by studying, investigating, and producing them, paying attention to books have not been published well, and taking care of them and re-producing them properly, because the scientific heritage of the nation must be produced in the fullest way |
