About Faculty

The Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at the University of King Abdul Aziz Rabigh Branch was established in the academic year 1429/1430. The Faculty offers three programs that grants the bachelor's degree, namely: Computer Science, information Systems and Information Technology. The female section was activated at the beginning of the academic year 1431/1432 AH. The Faculty has set and attract a group of faculty members and lecturers to the two parts of the faculty, highly qualified, working to provide the best of what is possible in the areas of teaching and scientific research. The faculty is currently updating the curriculum to conform with developments happened in this field in preparation for the adoption of the academic accreditation and to provide tracks to serve in a good way the needs of national and regional institutions. The faculty seeks in the future to provide for specialized programs that grant a master's degree for students.

    • To deliver specialists in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Information technology.
    • To impart practical, knowledge and leadership skills to students.
    • To develop and define the computer software in different systems and applications.
    • To periodically update the content of courses to keep up with developments in the field and to fulfill the needs of the community.
    • To raise awareness about computer usage and information in the relevant sectors, through specialized training courses.
    • To provide scientific and technical advice to organizations and institutions.
    • To provide and strengthen the means of publication and research in Computer Science, Information Systems and Information Technology.
    • To organize courses and scientific conferences, in order to deepen the concepts and upgrade scientific cooperation between the specialized cadres.
    • To provide assistance for other faculties graduates in computer science for them to prepare the involvement in the labour market.
    • To develop the region and raise awareness about information and computer technologies by providing scientific and technical advice together with organizing workshops and training sessions for community service.
